Both of our gardens need to be re-seeded. Grass really patchy on both, lots of clover (maybe?) Weeds etc and surface is very uneven. We removed low hedging which fenced in our back patch of grass and just back filled with soil and grass. It grew but not level. Also our kids have large areas destroyed with the swings so really needs to be redone once this summer is over. Just wondering when is.the best time to start it..(probably will do the front garden first to let them use the swings this summer) thanks.. ps just to mention, both fairly small gardens so will be doing it ourselves

Start now, remove existing grass sods , rotavate or dig the areas , add top dressing of good top soil , rake to an even level surface, Then wait for the cuurent dry spell to end. Once the weather forecast predicts rain every 2 to 3 days apply grass seed , use a dwarf rye graas which is hard wearing. Keep the kids off the ground for a good 2 months till grass becomes established. Perform first mowing when grass blades are 3 inches long , set mower to a high cut , do not cut graas short for the first 3 cuts. Good luck
