DB CASE 1390 has been sitting up and we removed startermotor and tried to move it with long bar but would not budge an inch, ceased tight there

    what else could we try?

Diesel down into cylinders and let it soak for a few days.

Then rock over and back again.

However if it’s stuck real bad it will need Surgury

Are you sure it is out of gear? How long was it sitting idle for? Was it outside?

Pull the injectors and turn over by hand

If water got into it, you coudl be hydrolocked. The cylinder are full of water and cant' move. Bit like putting finger on the top of a syringe..

Remove injectors and see if it will turn over. chekc if there is water in the engine oil. Open the sump but and if you have water in there you'll probably see it first.
