Apps and Google Drive question?

Hi all,

I recently purchased a new phone and am in the process of setting it up and downloading the apps which I had on my old phone.

Is there a way to restore text messages that were stored on old phone and put them onto my new phone? (or at least copy them) and similarly is there a way to restore whatsapp and viber chats from my old phone to my new phone?

Can I also put all my old photos from old phone gallery (also saved to Google Drive) onto my new phone's gallery app? I have backed up my Whatsapp and Viber onto Google Drive but not sure if it's possible to do this for text messages, Gallery photos, Google Drive photos.

If you have backup set up on WhatsApp you can restore messages when you set it up on the new phone.
Texts I'm not not sure of.
If you have have Google Photos as well you can access them on the new phone.

Search the play store for "SMS backup and restore". It allows you back them up to Google drive and restore on the other phone. Can also schedule a daily/weekly backup if you want.

My backup pro for call logs and sms. I have an SD card for photos so when I change phone I have them. Also backed up to dropbox

If you download Google’s own Messages app they’ll back up with a phone backup won’t they?

It should but I had an issue with it once where it didn't restore them so I don't trust it anymore. No harm having a second automated backup in your Google drive anyway.
