    Hi,
The attached bathroom window won't open any longer. The little black button release doesn't work as of last week. Not sure what happened.
Anyway, window company aren't responding so not sure how to open the bloody thing??
    Any ideas?

Sharp knife blade in behind it, where the button usually depresses, then open the handle.

have you a multi tool. cut down between the 2 pieces to cut the part that goes into the hole to lock it

Spray some WD-40 or similar in and around the button, it may just be gummed up.

Just found this thread by searching as I've exact same problem with landing window the past 2 days. And looks same as on photo.
I'll try putting a blade in as suggested tomorrow.
I'd prefer not to start cutting or dismantling anything just yet if can be avoided. Abs prob better to be stuck closed than open if it comes to it.

If it's just stuck then oleras's suggestion would probably work but if it's somehow locked and you're unlikely to find the key then cutting the locking bolt as the_pen_turner suggests will work then you just need to fit a new handle (if you want to lock it in future).

Hardwere stores have those keys in stock
    There are 3 different types
Ask them all 3 and try out and keep the one that fits and bring the others back
No need to renew the handle with lock

Oleras has nailed it first of straightaway.:)

    Common enough complaint with these.
