Rubber breadcrumbs same colour as drum seal after washing machine cycle

Loads of rubber pieces on clothes and in drum after wash cycle

I’m thinking that the drum made this from rubbing off the rubber door seal

When I spin the drum with it empty it appears to be warped but perhaps this is an illusion as it’s stainless steel

7 kilo high end Samsung eco bubble approx 6 years old and never have trouble

Running 15 minute empty test cycle

Any noise spinning drum manually as if bearings were worn it would be heard also any movement in drum.

You forgot to take your condoms out of your pocket.
Sorry, on a more serious note if the seals are wearing you should see a leak,
maybe not a big one at first but it will happen.
You should hear an unusual noise from the machine when spinning.

    Condom - Laughing at that

I ran a short 15 min cycle fearing the worst - was ok but stilll some crumbs

Ran a longer empty cycle at 60 degree and cleaned filters looking way better v few crumbs. I’m trying to wash them out and see if more arrive

Testing long cycle now with half load of clothes that had crumbs on them

It doesn’t sound louder now and rotates ok manually

    No leak

I’m hoping someone just threw in a pair of runners recently but the rubber crumbs were the same colour as the rubber door seal - hopefully a coincidence

Its looking like its not the rubber seal .... its the plastic casing ...

Drum appears not to be circular / has gone oval when I manually turn it ....

Its for the scrap heap I think

6 years is not a good life if its for scrapping as i would have expected around 10,was it overloaded when doing a wash?

    11 years
The average life expectancy of a new washing machine is 11 years. Consumer Reports recommends replacing any appliance that's more than eight years old, unless it's a high-end model and has a particular appeal to you. Others suggest replacing any top-loading washer manufactured in 1999 or earlier.
