Declared car temporarily off road, confirmation mail?

I have returned a form by e-mail, RF150 to a person at DVCSD that I was in contact with declaring a car off the road.

Will I get a written confirmation of this, or do I just accept that it's taken care of now?

    Thanks.

You should get a confirmation that the form is filled in ok. They have your email in case there are queries.

I sent a form in by post yesterday, my tax is up since last week so I couldn't do it online.

The reason you couldn’t do it online is that you need to to it in advance of the tax running out.

Edit: misread what was being said so ended up talking bollocks.

You're supposed to declare it before the renewal date, it's been that way for many years now.

Got a letter back from my local motor tax office today, since my tax was up on the 30th of april, it is now too late to declare it off the road. Fair enough, i left it too late.
Just wondering, if i pay the tax for 3 months, and then declare it off the road, could I claim the tax back?

No minimum refund is 3 months and you won't have 3 months tax left if you only tax it for 3 months. Just make to sure to declare it off the road before the next 3 months are up or you'll have to "sell" it.

    Thanks.
What if I was to pay for six months?
