Mtb long pants

I know its shorts season, but then its probably a good time to get a good deal on long pants.
Looking for something comfortable for pedaling but at the same time not too light that they would tear at the sight of a spill or brush against some thorns, and also room for knee pads.
    Any recommendations?

Endura MT500 spray trousers (as opposed to the full waterproof ones); hands down. Worn them in snow, cold, rain, and slop conditions. Fitted enough to not flap about but also roomy enough to fit knee-pads underneath them as well. They also have decent ventilation so you don't feel like you're wearing a swimming pool on your legs.

I've not used any of Enduras singletrack product range, but every other Endura product either myself or the missus own I have not felt disappointed with.

For what it's worth, I own one pair of MT500 spray (mk.II) trousers, a pair of Humvee shorts, and a pair of Humvee 3/4 shorts; all of which are awesome. The shorts are near indestructible (the trousers I've not used nearly as much or as long so can't quite make the same statement yet but so far not disappointed in that regard either). All of the above make use of Endura's "click-fast" liner system (and the liners are rather comfy indeed) which is a bonus. I am tempted to buy an MT500 jacket as I am well impressed with my missus' one for those times when the weather is absolutely brutal.

In summary, you can do worse than what you linked for trousers.

As an aside note, I have found that some of the more 'fashionable' brands like Troy Lee Designs and Fox tend to make clothes for whippets, and not much else so unless you are a whippet to begin with you may struggle to find clothes that fit. Fox are less of a culprit for this as TLD who seem to think XXXXXXXXXXXL = 36" waist so don't make [insert-item-of-clothing] above size M (ok, I'm exaggerating a bit but they're fvckers for it). Might not be an issue for you, but food for thought. Never had the above issue with Endura, even before I started shedding weight.

Just a question on Endura - their pants sizing seems to run large?
I'm usually a Medium (32" waist and 31" leg) but the Endura sizing chart seems to indicate I'd fall in the small range - 31" - 33". Do you have any thoughts on this?

Yeah, Endura sizing runs a bit larger and more "real life" than "cycling industry" so I'd definitely check the measurements before ordering if you're borderline or unsure which size you are. For reference my MT500 trousers are an XL and I'm 6'3 with a 34" leg and waist sitting somewhere around 37" (probably 38 now with all this sitting around at home the last 7 weeks ... )

I went to for the Endura Singletrack in the end, sizing was spot on for a medium, good quality feel to them.
....full review not for another 6 months all going well!

What would be your leg length and waist usually in pants?
I've read online that Endura sizes run a little bigger?

By "bigger", read "not cycling industry measurements", i.e. an L is really an L, not size M, as one might expect of picking up a normal t-shirt. Or a size 10 cycling shoe fits just like a non-cycling size 10, instead of having to go through 4 orders of cycling shoes to get the ones that actually fit, etc.

These most of the time: https://www.dunnesstores.com/p/regular-fit-stretch-chinos/4472375CHAR

I have a grey pair, and a navy pair I sometimes wear too. Knee pads underneath. No fancy pants here

I've eaten a lot of sh*t one some recent crashes and the grey pair are starting to hole at the knees. Love em

Would be 32-32, and medium for most brands
