I worked over the Christmas period and got paid in January. This is the only source of income I had as I'm a research student.

I notice that I have some income tax of just over €150.

How can I claim this back?

I went on to the Revenue website but can't seem to find any mechanism to follow

    Thanks

If you are not working now you can claim back tax online through My Account, by requesting an unemployment repayment.

First check you have updated your bank account details for your refund.

Check all employments listed are closed on your account, then select Claim unemployment payment for 2020.

You will receive a Statement of Liability in your My Documents, usually within 2 working days, and any refund due will issue to your bank account a few days after.

Thanks. I'll give that a go.

My employment is active. Just sent the company an email to deactivate my employment status.

You can close it online yourself if you like. Log in to My Account, in the PAYE Services tab select Update Job or Pension. Click start. Select Cease job or Pension under your active employment, then add a date after you received your final payment.
