Building a house (and a TAMS Spec shed)

Has anyone heard of someone building both a house and a very handy sized grant spec shed simultaneously. And getting a 40%/60% grant on the shed while putting down a lot of costs involved in the house (groundwork, concrete base, blocklaying, wiring, plastering etc.) towards the shed up to the max €80k. Claiming the VAT too, as farm roadways.

Was just wondering what was stopping someone from doing this.

There is always room for a little bit of savings by putting stuff though the farm if you are smart about it (and have suppliers/tradesmen on board) but you wont get away with doing it full on like you are suggesting (especially when you are going the TAMS route).

The shed will be costed out on your TAMS grant application.
There is a set amount for each part and it is calculated accordingly.

MOD NOTE; I think what you are talking about is at best borderline, probably illegal so this thread is very close to being closed. Be careful what you say in this thread.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

If you tender for both jobs together the contractors might be able give you a better price than the 2 seperately.

If priced properly the discount will be on the house with the shed full price.

Revenue are now looking for pictures of work carried out as part of vat reclaims on capital expenditure on the farm.

If the claim don't look right on the information provided, they can stop or delay the vat application until you satisfy them that the claim is correct.

Bulls##t story.while the costings arent too bad there isnt.that.much leeway to slip in other receipts. In other words the shed will cost close or more than what the dept costings if it is done to spec.and if you dont you are risking your grant.
