Maternity benefit

I'm wondering, is there any quick way to apply for maternity benefit?

My wife is due in July.

I tried to apply on mywelfare but can't. We need verified accounts, for that you need a public services card, we don't have them, never needed them. They're not doing appointments for those now. What's the best thing to do?

You can apply using the physical paper forms

Ring Citizens Information tomorrow and they’ll gladly send you an application form in the post.

I rang the above numbers (or similar) last week for paternity benefit and had the form in the post the next day. Very impressed in all fairness.
