    Hi Folks,

Over 10 years ago I bought a 42" Philips TV from you in Dublin - PFL8404/12 - and it's still going strong.

Interested in upgrading to a 55" - and I really want to keep the Ambilight, however, I've seen people get 55in tvs that while are full 4k don't look as good as my old telly.

    The model I have has:

Ambilight (really want to keep this feature on a new tv)
    100hz refresh
    500 nits brightness and
    3ms refresh

Any of the newer Philips models all seem to be 50 / 60 hz refresh max, and not as bright. Am I missing something or do Philips not do these kind of specs unless you go OLED, which is beyond my budget just now.

    Any advice welcomed.

    Hey Zaphodbeeb.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

At the moment you do need to go into the Philips OLED to get the 100Hz panel.
There are very few LED's at the minute that do the 100HZ.
The Samsung QLED also do a 100Hz panel.

The Sony 55XF9005 is 100Hz and a full 10 Bit panel. Coming in at £749

Philips are the only ones that use the ambi light feature at the moment unfortunately.

Let me know what you think.

    Kenny.
