Right wood for outdoor funiture

I'm a newbie and going to do a bunch of outdoor projects, looking for suggestions for the right type of wood to use for outdoor projects like sheds, playhouses, outdoor lounges.

Ideally looking for whatever is good value that doesn't look crap and has a smooth finish but would also consider some better quality material if its not more than double the price of the standard quality stuff. All the online advice seems to be US based and my local DIY store are not the friendliest when it comes to advice.

Also what about wood treatments and finishes, from what I see on most playhouses they don't seem to be painted/stained. Is there any standard advice on this, is there treatments I need to apply or is this already done prior to buying the wood?

Loads of questions there, you intend to keep busy.:)

Give us some idea of the tools, power and others to do these projects.

That way we wont be advising procedures and tools that you dont have,:)

    Just stick this in here:
can you successfully glue PAO pressure treated timber, using outdoor glue?
