Leak In Hotpress

    found a very small leak in hotpress this moring,

    the mains water is feeding this , but alo looks like there is a heat valve ?? what does this part do?

    The valve with the red cap looks like a safety valve (PRV), if you look on the end of it you should see its setpoint pressure, possibly 3bar or 6bar, the valve between that and the mains isolating looks like a pressure regulating valve (also called a PRV) but not sure as these normally have a pressure gauge on the outlet side.

    So, the pressure relief valves sometimes leak, it's a rubber block pushed against the brass fitting by a spring, you twist the red knob and it pushes the rubber block back, water will escape and hopefully then your block will sit back down and seal nicely, sometimes you'll have a worse leak though so it's risky.

    Edit: sorry I see your pressure relief valve is actually connected to a pipe like it's supposed to be, less likely to be the cause of the leak then


    Try drying it off and seeing if you can work out where the water is weeping from, if it's one of the compression nuts that will be the easiest fix, just a bit of a tighten will probably sort it.
