Just bought something online from Harvey Norman using Paypal.

The price was 959 euro and both emails from Paypal and Harvey Norman say this. The card linked to my Paypal account is with Revolut and the statement i received from them says 999 euro!!! So where did the extra 40 euro come from?

Every other time i use my Revolut card i get charged in euros so the issue must be Paypal? I have messaged them already but i don't imagine ill get anywhere seeing as there's always hidden settings or terms and conditions.

I just want to know what caused this and how i can fix it for now or further purchases.

Spoke with someone at Revolut in live chat they mentioned the currency issue with PayPal charging in pounds.

The setting has actually been removed from PayPal s website and its not very clear about needing to change it when your paying.

I got onto PayPal they tried to claim I must of brought something from the UK Harvey Norman site! I told them in the nicest possible way the truth.

    Did they resolve it ?
I don’t think Harvey Norman are even in the U.K.

Not so far anyway. Haven't heard back from them since.

I got caught out with my Revolut card and PayPal once before when paying in euro. I gave up trying to change it in PayPal and now only use my Irish debit card with it when paying in euro.

It was essentially converting euro to sterling with Revolut and then back to euro with PayPal’s eye watering currency conversion rate.

I also raised the issue with PayPal and got nowhere. It was only a few euro so I eventually let it go. Best of luck as it is understandably very annoying.
