Calculating Amounts of Sand, Cement & Hardcore for a shed base

I've seen a few threads on here with similar questions but I haven't come across one where the calculation of cubic metres translates into weight of sand & cement to order.

For example, I want to put down a concrete base for a steel shed. The base will be 3m X 2.5m X 150mm = 1.125 cubic metres.

How does this translate into the amount (weight) of sand, cement, aggregate / hardcore required?

    There must be a formula?

    Thanks.

You should seriously consider getting ready mix to take the pain out of it.
If not the above post is your answer

Please excuse my ignorance... but when ordering ready mix do I tell them the size of the base I want, or am I just ordering a specific quantity?

You would need to lay your hardcore base first with shuttering for the concrete and then just ring up and order 1.2m3 of ready mix
however I'm sure if you gave them the size they would also just work it out for you...its fairly straight forward.... length x width x depth = m3

They generally give you around 30 mins unloading time so you would want a min of 2 or 3 wheelbarrows they'll pour it into the barrow and you run it. or if the truck can get close to where you want it you may be able to get it poured straight in. They'll be used to to people doing shed bases etc so just ask over the phone and they will talk you through it.
