    Hi guys,

I want to go freesat and saw this on Amazon which seems like it's what I need in an idiot-proof format. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01J81NXGE

    Thing is, will it work?

Get a hybrid LNB which will work for both SkyQ and Freesat.

In addition, there is a new Freesat box that will work with the Sky Q-type LNB.

Not really interested in keeping Sky Q or returning to it so I wouldn't bother with a hybrid. Something cheap and cheerful would do me and I spotted that.

Oh? Cool. What's it called, or link if you have one please?

I got mine from Freetv.ie. Cost something like €15 delivered.
Access to the dish was handy, but that’s the only potentially hard part. Swapping them over is a piece of cake.

    Actually found invoice

New range of Freesat recorders, when combined with a 2 cable wideband LNB like the one supplied with SkyQ will give you access to 4 tuners. When using a standard legacy universal LNB just 2 standard tuners are available.

Thread on the new generation Freesat receivers here - https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057760378&page=15

If you want to feed both the new Freesat receiver with a wideband feed and possibly other legacy receivers this new hybrid gives you 2 wideband outputs and 4 standard legacy outputs - https://www.freetv.ie/sky-q-hybrid-lnb/. From the same manufacturer as the one you linked to in the original post.

    Correct, Freesat only.

Is there any such thing as Saorview on Freesat? I was under the impression that there wasn't. Can RTE be tuned in without Sky??

Not from the Astra satellites. Terrestrial aerial or Saorsat at 9 deg. east only.

I prefare more feeds like an octo or quad if updating in the future adding more rooms.
Does the bracket differ when wanting to change to a different lnb size wise?
Is there a need for a saorview aerial outdoors to be fitted?
Getting everything done first time means you dont need extra work done in a month.
