New dishwasher filling when not in use

Hi folks, just bought a new Whirlpool dishwasher and right off the bat there was a problem. https://powercity.ie/product/WIC3C26

Got it hooked up and as soon as I turned on the mains water a slow steady trickle of water started coming out of the black vent on the left inside (see vent pic). I think this is some sort of air vent related to the drying function?

I've run a couple of programs and it runs fine, drains fine, dries fine. But that trickle keeps going and the base fills up. I've turned off the water and the trickle stops.

I'm pretty sure I've set the drain hose up right (see pics). But this trickle started before I even turned it on for the first time. Could it be water pressure? Faulty machine?

    Thanks for any advice!

Have you spoken to power city or whirlpool, as appliance would be under warranty.

Been in touch online with Powercity and waiting for a response. Was just hoping to troubleshoot it at the same time. Thinking along the lines of a faulty inlet valve.

I had a very similar issue with another brand. It was a faulty solenoid in the inlet valve. The valve was replaced under warranty and no issues since.
