LG TV / Ariva 150 Combo / A Better EPG

Just set up my new LG TV. Dissappointed with the EPG on the UK sat channels.

I attached an old Ariva 150 Combo box I had lying around. That’s not a whole lot better with a lot of gaps and limited to Now/next.

I would like a full EPG for the UK channels. Is my only option to upgrade the box to a more recent model.

I haven’t tried setting the region to UK to get the Freesat EPG so I’ll try that first

The only way to have 7 day EPG on both Saorview and Freesat, is to set the TV to UK as the country. A postcode is needed. I use a London one (SW1A) The Saorview channels will appear in the 800's if you have an aerial. But these can be rearranged to what ever numbers you want them to be in Setttings - Advanced - Programmes - Programme Manager

As above but I would set the Saorview channels as favourites. Then you can select and easily see them without all the other Freeview (terrestrial) channels which you probably won’t get anyway.

Do you have to change tuners on this lg telly to change from saorview to saorsat

All sorted now thanks. EPG is much much better.

Only thing annoying me now is the sat filter keeps resetting back to all programmes when I switch over to Saorview and back. Then I have to apply my chosen filter again to get my preferred programme list.

Is there any way to lock this filter so it stays on all the time.

LG tv's have got this sorted - short cut on button 1 to RTE1, then shortcut on button 2 to BBC1, seemlessly flicking between Saorview and Freesat (not on same EPG, but a minor inconvenience tbh)

Then, set LG content to Ireland, update RTE Player & Now TV, then reset content to UK, update ALL4 and ITVHub, and you can use them all flawlessly without needing to flick between regions again. (Shame Iplayer and My5 don't work as easily as this!)

All that's left for LG to implement is the ability to tune in non-freesat channels whilst using Freesat mode - Samsung do this well.

    This might help

I use long press 1 for Irish/Saorview and 2 for Freesat

No it doesn’t solve it. I had already set up the quick access.

When you switch from YouTube or Netflix back to Freesat the filter you had applied is retained.

However it isn’t retained if you switch tuners.
