John Waters may have a point. Where are the truly independent thinkers in the mainstream (print) media? Wealthy businessmen exert complete control over content and editorial direction and are intolerant of those unwilling to toe the corporate line.

Nothing stopping them from setting up, just by and large the Irish people don't buy their particular brand of ****e.

Could it be more obnoxious than the brand of ****e being pedalled on a daily basis by Independent Newspapers.

No corrupt but there is a group-think and if you go against the group-think or have a go at the media, they will round up, unite as one and go after the individual.

No John Water doesn’t have a point, neither does the other clown hanging around with him

So who are these people intolerant of?

Not corrupt essentially, rather downright naive and populist.

You order shi* t, you eat speak and get sh*t.

Who is still reading newspapers?, growing up the Irish press was read every day as an adult I use to read the Irish time every day and the Independent or Sunday Times or occasionally the Observer at the weekend?

Gave up on the Sunday independent al long time ago, stopped reading the Irish times every day only get it on a Saturday and only get the Sunday Times now and then.

The media plays to its audience.

Just look at boards, you have people who post links to different media to prove a point but haven't actually read the article so it goes against the point they are trying to make.

That is the customer of media today.

The problem with GOD and Water is the particular brand of s**t they are shoveling isn't really what 99% of the population want to listen or read, so of course its the media fault. Not the fact the pair of them are gobs**ts

most media are corrupt and dance to the tune of their owners , ireland is no exception.
There are few journalists anymore mostly just activists.

Waters is correct although he is one of those activist types.

    that is the way
