can i use a dispensing vessel to brew kombucha?

    Hi,
    Can you advise please?
    Is it okay to brew Kombucha in a 5litre dispensing vessel?
    I am finding it hard to get a 5Litre bottle, but I can buy a 5L Kilner glass dispensing vessel, so it has a tap on it. I am worried that the tap may interfere with the brewing?
    Any advice would be welcome,
