Key broke in door

My key broke in a lock.

Would anyone have any tips for getting it out?

It is completely flush so a pliers is no use. Tried to slide in sewing needles to get it out but no joy.

    Is it a locksmith job?

Super glue broken part then pull out, worst case drill it...

heat a glue stick and stick it to the part of the key in the door

I'd be nervous of using super glue - they key is in so far that i think the super glue could block up the lock

But the lock is already blocked. Try with the glue.

Get a glue stick like they use in glue guns. Melt the end slightly with a lighter and push onto the broken bit of the key and hold for a few mins. It should stick to the broken bit and pull it out.

If he done this a few times and worked every time

happened to me before. I got the piece out by using a small screw driver with a magnet attached to it to magnetise the metal and slowing jiggled the piece out.

    good luck

No joy with the hot glue stick

Dumb question but are you in the house? If so take the lock off and push the key out from the back - depending on the type of lock don't think you said what it was.

    Success!!

    thanks for your help

Sprayed a little WD40 and then went at it with the teeniest little flat screwdriver that I randomly found among my sparse tools. That in conjunction with a sewing needle did the trick.
