    Hi,
I want to try the no dig method. I have a lawn, can I simply cover a section of the lawn with cardboard, add about 6 inches of topsoil or compost, and then simply plant the potatoes into that topsoil/compost. Will that work?
    Thanks in advance,
    DM

Sort of, the traditional way to do what you are attempting is to take off the turf put your potatoes in and then replace the turf upside down.

You can modify that by adding your topsoil when the time comes to earth up.

That'll work fine spuds grow up, not down. All they need to something fertile to grow in.
