My husband aged 56 has just been given a diagnosis of Parkinson’s. He’s been told it’s early stages, given a prescription & been told he need a scan. In the past few days friends have told us we need to advise our car insurers. Is this the case and if so does anyone know if the insurance companies load Parkinson’s clients and to what degree?

Yes, you need to tell insurance and the NDLA. Parkinson's Assoc apparently did some sort of a deal with insurance companies- my friend's husband has it.

I have MS and can only get a 3 year licence now, you need a medical assessment from the gp for that but I also get a letter for my insurance company each year from my neuro to say I'm fit to drive ,even though some companies say they don't need it.
