Sorting out PAYE Tax after ceasing Income Tax.

I'm sorry, I'm sure it's straightforward but I always get lost when it comes to revenue and taxation. Early 2018, I registered for Income Tax as I was planning to start my own business, but never managed to get the startup money and picked up a PAYE employment, in which I'm in until this day.

Obviously, revenue won't let me generate any tax overviews/statements for 2018 and 2019 because I was registered for Income Tax. I have never traded, literally 0 cents and I have now ceased the Income Tax registration on ROS.

How do I go about sorting out my PAYE tax for the past 2 years, now that the revenue website kindly tells me to bugger off?

    I'm no expert but...

You can be both PAYE and "self employed" at the same time. It is not necessarily a case of either or...

Your employer (PAYE) should have applied deductions as per the tax credit certs they and you received for each year.
You should have received PAYE payslips for 2018, 2019 and 2020 for all your PAYE payments and tax deductions.
You should have an EOY P60 for 2018 detailing your gross paid, net received and taxes paid.
2019/2020 "myAccount" would be your point of contact since, for dealing with PAYE https://www.revenue.ie/en/online-services/index.aspx

Use ROS and submit returns for those years.

You'll have to submit for 11 tax returns for the years your income tax registration was active in. You do this via ROS not MyAccount.

Thanks everyone. That's what I feared, those things look scary and will suck up an entire afternoon I'm sure.
