Seems good value, I order lots of stuff on amazon and now have a fire stick
Am I missing anything, is there limitations on what I don’t get for 7.99 pounds a month?

Prime TV isnt up to much with content.

The free postage is good. Especially for xmas./ Birthdays.

Although I will always try and buy Irish if there's only a couple of euro difference (Smyth's have free delivery over a certain amount too).
Also an Irish bricks and mortar shop is less hassle for some returns.

Prime will cut about a week off delivery times for you - arrives inside a week instead of inside two.

However, right now anything non essential (food/medical products) is being pushed right to the back and there are delays.

Prime tv isn’t too bad for movies etc but their original content offering is very weak

I buy the annual package and think it's smashing value not only for the quick and free delivery but also for the TV, music etc. For £75 stg approx less it equates to less than €2 per week.

If you pay by Revolut and use your addresspal or parcel motel address for the UK you will get the UK package which has slightly more content than ROI.

and if you order the yearly subscription during prime day promotions, you can get it for 59 , which shared between a few, is very good value .

Register a UK address, pick any online ,try to avoid obvious ones like Buckingham Palace. Then contact customer support and ask them to switch your prime to your UK address.

Same for me. I have several deliveries per week & it's still 2 to 3 days delivery for prime goods.

If you buy a lot from Amazon I think it's worth it. It's handy if you're only buying small things and not getting caught for postage. I have it and don't regret it anyway. You get access to Prime Video too. Mine is on the UK library. Lots of choice but the user interface is terrible.

same as that, some garden tools

worth it for that alone especially right now

Ordered prime stuff on the 9th, only came on Wednesday. Only dispatched a few days before arrival. Ordered something else in the mean time and it got delivered quicker, although was just one item on its own. Binged on the US office since this all kicked off. I’d normally just subscribe at Christmas, but it is handy for prime discounts alone. The order I put in on the 9th saved me what I paid for the subscription

I noticed that a lot of sellers don't ship to Ireland and you need to have Adresspal or parcel motel UK address. Does this change once you sign up for Prime membership and get direct home delivery?

I keep getting offers for prime recently on amazon, think it depends on what you are ordering, I often put tester stuff in baskets to see if it will deliver.

Can't remember the deals, might be 99p for a week or a month, or free for a week.

I found it has changed to more items not shipping here since the lockdowns kicked off. Normally found it only happened with battery packs

Yeah I've found it with cosmetics and things like fabric dye and even umbrellas lately.

So does Prime membership make any difference with that? (i.e. not shipping to ireland) or do you get lower rates for shipment to ireland with Prime for items that would normally not ship here.

    Don’t do monthly, do yearly

I use amazon a lot so I bought, few users
The Prime TV is good, Bosch is excellent
    Quick delivery
Nappies are cheap, I get other stuff as well but you get extra with nappies
Amazon photo is unlimited, so I have moved all photos onto it, then have amazon echo which scrolls through the photos auto, pictures I haven’t seen in years
I think amazon music comes with it, I have Spotify now on yearly account but will drop

I got a tenner back when I bought last week against first order so 69 for year

Where an item is shipped to Ireland, if you have prime it is free normally within 2-3 days (Covid may delay this).

If an item is not shipped to Ireland, prime won't change that, you'll need to use parcel motel etc to get around that.

I have the app on my phone and get about 2-3 deliveries a week, makes you realise how ripped off we are here in Ireland on some stuff- I more than get my monies worth and that's before I even look at prime video and movies etc.

Going to try the obvious answer (at the risk of me sounding stupid), but when you order prime video in Ireland you don't access Prime Video through the Amazon website link.

Instead, you need to go to a dedicated website, Primevideo.com, which will work for Ireland.

(If you are using a Firestick or other Streaming device other than a PC, this does not apply)

But as someone said above, it is a good idea to ring Customer Services and ask them to change your Region to the UK.
I did not have to register a UK address or credit card or answer any questions, they did it straight away. If you do this you will be able to access through the normal Amazon website - Prime Video Link, as well as gaining a lot more content (as well as renting and buying options)

Just as a by-the-by, if you did not use a UK credit card to pay for Prime, you will not be able to rent or buy any movies through the UK version, this is fine by me, I have no intention of paying anything extra above the subscription price, but also good to know the kids can't accidentally buy anything.

Prime is grand for the free deliveries but it's still along way behind Netflix.

It is but there is still some good TV on offer. 4k Netflix costs 16.99 euros per month. That's 203.88 euros per year. 4k Prime costs 90 euros per year. This is pretty good value compared to Netflix and that's without free delivery & other prime benefits.

Netflix has better content but its twice the price of Prime. prime is still excellent value imo

    So, no bargain here then?
