    Hi Guys,
Recently moved into a new house(built approx in 2007). Heating is done by a grant boiler, there is a motorised valve inside a cabinet with a switch above boiler timer that operates the valve. We had been told that it was upstairs and downstairs but rads upstairs and downstairs are always roasting no matter what way the switch is pressed. Would anyone have any idea about this? I have attached a picture
    Thanks guys

If there’s only one motorized valve it’s likely to control hot water only. Does the water heat too regardless of switch position?

Thanks for the reply. I never thought of heating water. I'll give it a go and report back
    Thanks

    Just to follow up here,
It actually does work upstairs and downstairs, I had a bit more of a play with it today and when the switch is up the radiators upstairs heat but not downstairs and when the switch is pressed down the rads down here got hot too
