You can get access to it via the Library, so you need to sign up for a Library account first.

But I just checked and they don't have the New York Times on it

I have to say I find the NY Times excellent - I am a subscriber at €1 per week and get great value from it. Loads of content - their smarter living section in particular is excellent.

    Behold bargain of the year.
Get adguard. com, use your cheap VPN and set it to turkey
Get lifetime 3 licences for any devices for €14, licence can transfer when you get a new device, works perfect on Mac,Windows and Android, Apple act dick where IOS is concerned, so not worth it for iphone/pad.
Install on Mac,Windows,Android device and enjoy system wide Adblock, no ads in the free games on android!
Where is the bargain of the year you ask?
Well it will circumvent NYTimes app/website 20 articles a month limit, you will have total access to their content, including archives.
Other paywalls with article limits per month or content locked behind a subscription will be available, thetelegraph .co.uk is one that pops into mind, many others that for me i forgot as i dont get blocked they are just regular full access sites so i dont notice anymore they are subscription access, they just work.
    Enjoy,

Not to take this off topic but Tbh good journalism is worth paying for and 50c per week is hardly expensive if you are even only reading a few articles a week. If people don't support it we won't have it anymore, especially with ad revenue through the floor at the moment.

Journalists have to put food on the table too you know.

Yeah, but its not good journalism, and has not been for many years.
We live in the time of the Access Media, they sold their soul for access to politicians/ celebrities /sports stars.
When was the last time you read a bad review for a major hollywood Blockbuster from a main stream media outlet?
They publish a bad review they wont get invited to the next press screening, wont get access to interview the stars, so they give a glowing review to a rubbish Movie/TV show.
This is par for the course now in all aspects of journalism, starve the beast and they might have to start reporting the Facts and not give puff pieces passed of as real journalism

50c a week. A bargain. Good or bad journalism, it's something to read and give out about.
    Thanks op

If you don't think it's worth reading, then don't read it. I totally get that not everyone is a fan of it.

If you do think it's worth reading then pay a reasonable/fair price for it. It's a bit of a contradiction to say: "it's rubbish and not worth reading, but here's a way to read it for free" imo.

Adguard works not only on the NYT app/website, it works on many other subscription sites, for 14 quid you will get 3 licences to take to the grave, transfer onto any device you own, the amount of data it saves on my mobile phones is a real eyeopener, much faster loading of web pages once ads are blocked and not downloaded onto device.
Those free versions of apps with annoying pop ups, well pop up be gone, you basically get the full version if using adguard.
As i posted bargain of the year, so get off your high horse, plenty of posts here about getting cheap or sharing accounts on Netflix, Spotify, Disney+, do these organisations not deserve to be paid full price for their service, or is it just the NYTimes that deserves your money?

Exactly, if we don’t pay all we’ll end up with is propaganda and targeted advertising. That is an unreal price and the NYT is a quality newspaper.

What about the threads for getting cheap Netflix and Disney+, they could fold and we would be left with only RTE?
Account sharing on Spotify, you cool with that? If we all do that it will go bust, you wont be able to pick the music to listen to you will be stuck with radio and their industry paid playlist.
Get off your high horse, nowadays it all access media, they gave up real journalism for access to celebrities/politicians/sports stars a long time ago.
Its all propaganda, media going crazy about Trump blaming China for the virus, "thats racist", the same media do nothing but blame Russia for all of USA ills, whats the difference?

Let them suffer and maybe they will start to stamp out the propaganda rather than up it further. It is the so-called paper of record. Plenty of good journalists but it is a dangerous tool. Ethically bankrupt organisation

We have seen in the last decade journalists not reporting the news, they want to become the news, its all about their opinion, not the news, media is now 80% opinion and not reporting the facts and letting you make up your mind.
NYTimes is as guilty as any news source of this, just report the facts, remove your photo from the articles, i dont care what you look like, remove your Twitter link, i dont want to follow you.
I dont care what you think, Just report the facts and i will make up my own mind, until then dont expect me to pay for propaganda.

Have been using it for over a year now, i dont notice which sites it unlocks until i sent a link to a friend and they text back they cant access it, they soon buy a adguard licence when i let them know the story.
Fill your boots on the NYTimes site for the time being and enjoy ad free websites, when i remember which sites i will post

Newspapers gave up reporting the news many years ago, nowadays it's all spin and propaganda. NY Times not alone in this.

This has always been the case but things might have improved slightly as the internet has arguably improved transparency. Best to get your news from a variety of sources - Daily Mail, Guardian, Telegraph, Irish Times, independent etc. As for the idea that media organisations should just report the facts - this is what, by and large, Breitbart news does but just take a look at the comments:eek:

Jesus. The number of people who have swallowed "the main stream media are fake news" is pretty terrifying. Goes to show the damage that has been done from the top.

God help us when Rush Limbaugh and Alex Jones are the main staple.

OP, thanks for the link. Happy to support good journalism.

Thanks OP - amazing price for quality journalism, signed up. Even at full price it is very good value.
I also recommend the Irish Times digital subscription.
