Aer Lingus Refund - waiting nearly 7 weeks

    Hey Guys, has anyone received a refund from Aer Lingus due to Covid 19? I put in a claim nearly 7 weeks ago when the Deaprtment of Foreign Affairs issued a statement of non essential travel to Spain including canary Islands was issued. I've rang Aer Lingus a few times and I just get the same story that they are processing the claim and they cannot tell me when it will be done or five me a timeline.
    We got insurance for the flights but insurance company is looking for info from Aer Lingus to say they either will or won't refund us. Its very frustrating.

    The flights were still flying 7 weeks ago. Unless your flight was cancelled I can’t see you getting anything

    I don't expect a refund from Aer lingus but I can't claim it from the insurance company without a reply from Aer Lingus.

    Does your insurance cover pandemics?

    It said in the terms and conditions that its covered if the foreign affairs department issue non essential travel.
