    Hi,

We have a large field which we are actively farming. It is adjoining the back of a neighbour's garden, and there is no fence in place. We would like to put a fence in to define our boundary and keep our dog out but the neighbour doesn't want one. However insists that us farming the field is an invasion of their privacy as we are regularly back there working. Can we legally put in a fence on our side of the boundary seeing as it is agricultural land? And if so, how high/ what kind of fencing can we use? Does the 2m rule apply in this case if it is agricultural and not around our house?

You can of course put a fence on your side of the boundary... obviously these are generally put on the part line and is then a party wall, but in this case you would fully own the boundary fence and be responsible for maintenance etc. I'm not sure about the height off hand.
