Personal Tax Credit and Employee Tax Credit

    HI,

    A question i am sure has been asked before but i cant find it.

    Can anyone please tell me what the below are or if it looks correct in my situation

    Personal Tax Credit and Employee Tax Credit
    Married with both of us working full time , on my tax credit cert is shows

    Personal Tax Credit for me € 3300, non showing for wife
    Employee Tax Credit showing as € 1650 each

    Does that look correct, the no figure for my wife personal credits are trowing me a little

    thanks

    You've taken your wife's 1650 personal tax credit. That's how you have 3300 personal tax credits.

    Her pay slip shows tax credits per month of 275 As does mine so it looks like it is split evenly and we never ask for me to get any of her credits. I will call the revenue as query. Thanks for the reply

    Depending on what each of you earns, it might suit for you to take her personal tax credit if she is only paying 20% and you are on the higher marginal rate.

    275 each on your monthly payslips would indicate a 50/50 split. If you login to your Revenue online account, go to PAYE services and click mange pay and tax 2020 you'll see how your credits are split right now.
