I have a 161 Hyundai Tucson with the bog standard audio system. Now, the volume on the system is fine when I connect my iPod or Android phone via Bluetooth, but the level drops noticeably if I connect via the USB socket. Anyone else with the same issue? Pity the Koreans didn't think the European market was worth making Android Auto available to back then, but hey ho, it is what it is.

There may be an input volume setting.
