    Hi all,

Family holiday booked in France for July
    Flights and accommodation booked ourselves.
No travel insurance taken out, usually get it the week before we fly.

Accomidation provider has offered us the opportunity to rebook a different date this/next year.

Are Aer Lingus allowing anybody with flights in July to avail of the voucher scheme?

I believe if we change our flights there is a 100 euro fee per person, dont want to throw good money after bad as unsure when it would be feisable to travel.

Anyone else in the same boat?

I'd happily take a voucher in place of our July flights.

At the moment only for flights up to May 31st. But I am sure this will be extended.

if its a campsite, chances are it will be cancelled so if that happens then you will get a refund, main thing is not to cancel yourself, let them do it

at the moment its like a game of chicken with airlines and holidays, whoever cracks first bears the cost so if you have paid and they cancel you are more than likely to get a refund

airlines are the same, but they are stalling and trying to fob people off with vouchers
If the voucher works for you then it might be a good idea as I think AL are offering 10% on top of the flight that was booked with them

Our campsite in France are still planning to open in July.

I believe it will open but on a limited scale that it be pointless, so we won't go.
I believe Aer lingus will be flying in July so we will lose our flight costs for the 4 of us

We are similar only to Portugal.
I think we are going to decide at the end of May.If we can, we will change flights, rearrange holiday.I am assuming there won't be vouchers available, as it will be choice not to fly, rather than necessity. If they are, we will take them. If not, in the long run, the 100eur flight change is the lesser cost than just not going and rebooking all over again.
I need to investigate the workings of all this but that is the idea anyway.

Vouchers will expire, so if no flying for a year (worst case) does the voucher run out and we lose our money.

Will ask the campsite to push booking out to next year at the same cost.

Can't see us going any where in the summer with the restrictions sadly

Many of us will be loosing out because flights will be back on but we choose not to travel.

We have flights to northern Italy in July but you’d have to give me lotto numbers to go.

    €650 down the drain.

The only positive way to look at it, is that there is other people in a worst off situation with this virus.

All airlines and camp sites etc are saying the plan to open for the summer.
    They wont.
Its just a who will blink first game.
If you cancel you get nothing. If they cancel they have to give you your money back - except Ryanair, they can do what they like.

Also companies who know they wont be opening will be stalling to get final payments too.

French President is hoping to stop any international tourist until October. There is noway they will open their borders by July. Sit tight it will be cancelled.

Canary Islands has come out and said only Spanish allowed in for the months up until Sep

The rest will probably follow suit

Any country taking a risk during the summer is bonkers

Camp sites wont open, I cant see it

They will have to cancel, let them blink first. It might be you paying the full amount first but you are then covering yourself as you fulfilled the contract. When they are forced to cancel they break it so you get a refund

big game of chicken here, the odds are in the consumers favour though
