    Any other suggestions?

A Brennan's half pan. It'll be a bit stale after a week, so he'll have to toast it. Be grand though.

    Clonakilty black pudding.

There should be a whole other thread about how crap that stuff has become. Good chance it’s components have originally come from Brazil or some other far flung country anyway. The muck of fresh blood pudding.

Dont forget some Catholic guilt for that real taste of home...and Cidona!

Also, what size were the shoes so we know how much we can fit in the box?

It’s all bigger brands that people are mentioning though. You could easily find a better version of anything mentioned so far but it seems to be a traditional Irish brand care package.

Given that they are in South America they can probably get that locally, perhaps begrudgery instead?

Tayto or King OP depending on their allegiance and some whiskey.

Irish soil with a good tuft of grass atop in an old metal box. Make sure you look like a wild thing while digging it up.

Caramel Chocolate. It's one of the few chocolates that tends to be difficult to find. Cadbury Creme eggs are good too.

I'd second the Tayto and King crisps. Kings are smaller though, so might pack better.
