Netflix not working on projector

My friend has a new projector - Vanyko 470

It is connected to an iPhone XR and displays everything fine except Netflix.

The app opens, allows a movie to be selected, starts to load it but it doesn't play.

At first the movie would play on the phone and not the projector but now it just hangs on both the phone and projector.

    Do Netflix block external displays?

The streaming apps like Netflix usually prevent screen mirroring capabilities, on a phone os level (it is a feature you can disable as an app developer).

    So that won’t work unfortunately,

Will need something like a Firestick, presuming the projector has a HDMI connection.

With a cable it will work just fine, as the projector would just be seen as an external screen.

Depending in on the projector, it might work without cable.

My friend doesn't have the necessary connector but I do. Just needed know it was worth her while before telling her to collect it on her way home.
