As per the title, when we get a chance to explore again could fellow users share their best sights and experiences in the country. Most of mine are underrated, not huge into tourist traps.

    1. Trim Castle. Norman castle with an excellent guided tour.
    2. Knocknarea, Sligo. I've climbed many mountains but none beats the view from this hill. Also megalithic tombs nearby and strandhill.
    3. Scattery Island. Short trip from Kilrush, truly underrated Island
    4. Waterford Greenway, best one in Ireland imo, can get busy during summer though.
    5. Cleggan/Inishboffin. Feels like Ireland of old which I like.

Wild Atlantic Way in Donegal, amazing viewpoints and magnificent cliffs. Still very much unspoiled.

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.

In Wexford, you can't beat the cliff walk from Cahore pier (well the Strand pub) down to Old Bawn beach. Very picturesque.

Just don't come down during any lock-down and show some manners on the road in your D regs :D

Walking in Glendalough. I love it. Views are great and if you do the longer loops you won’t meet any more than 10 people. Peace and quiet and exercise.

Knocknarea is great as is Sligo in general. It's a beautiful town and surrounding area.

The Dingle peninsula is one of my favourite parts of Ireland. It's beautiful and you can drive around so many corners and have an amazing view just open up and take your breath away.

Also Curracloe beach is an amazing beach that's worth a mention.

Trim Castle... Meh... wasn't bad to let the family wander around on a Sunday afternoon but nothing really in the way of amenities there.

Cleggan... went there on a college weekend a long time ago, but really depends on what you're looking for out of a weekend.

    Lots of places in Wicklow.
    - Powerscourt Waterfall
    - http://www.luggala.com/
    - Bray. I think Bray is great for a walk along the promenade, food and drink in the hotels there, bit of amusements, funfair rides, lovely scenery.

Dun Laoghaire, a walk down the pier and the food/farmers market in the peoples park on Sundays.

Up North, the Mussenden Temple, Giants Causeway and Carrick-a-rede rope bridge.

I don't know why they don't promote the bejaysus out of Scattery and have a ferry from t'other side as well.

    Skellig Michael

Unreal! Travelled a fair bit and came home a few months before star wars movie came out. Doing the wild Atlantic way and a fella in Dingle mentioned they'd been filming it over on Skellig Michael. Got a cancellation on a tour over a few days later and it was absolutely incredible. Really sunny day, puffin birds everywhere! The island is amazing and an amazing place to visit

    The Barack Obama Plaza

Spent many an hour there in Supermac's eating snack boxes with Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and assorted secret service men.

That statue of Barack and Michelle Obama is an awful job. Its got Pat McDonogh tightness written all over it, up close it feels like cheap plastic.

My nomination, top of the Healy Pass on the Beara Peninsula, best enjoyed on a motorbike for those twisties
