Does anyone know who delivers for Curry’s or DID?

After posting it occurred to me that the information might be on their websites - which it is ;)

Curry's use their own delivery service afaik. Think its called knowhow.

DPD is named on both as carrier for smaller items.

Might be best avoided for the moment.

That was one delivery and doesn’t seem like the fault of Curry’s but the driver.

And our DPD is very reliable.

I've always found DPD great to deal with.

Ours was too with the regular delivery drivers but they appear to be reassigned to their business to business collection and delivery for now with the contractors dropping packages all over the place.

They will both use a mixture of there own drivers, independents and DPD.

DPD have taken on 100 drivers.

I’ve seen our regular driver and his alternate pass a few times in the last couple of weeks.

    Expected delivery is the 28th.

Does Curry’s really take a week to get an order out?

I believe you are correct. Normal delivery is up to 5 days.

So in fact the lockdown and such is having no effect on Currys.

Well the tracking says it is due for delivery today but if when clicked tracking in the email it brings me to DPD UK site that says it on the way to the depot in Athlone but I just checked for an update in the Irish site and it says “order data received from sender”.

Do they not work with the same database and such?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,031 ✭✭✭Slippin Jimmy

They are two seperate databases. I usually receive an email from DPD telling what time to expect delivery at.

Ordered a large tv from Currys last Friday, arrived today - looked like an independent courier, non liveried van

Someone posted here that DPD have taken on extra drivers. That probably means they will be in unbranded vans.

Yes me too. It is unlikely that it is coming today as tracking is always accurate but I know that if I go out, the lad will show with my parcel. :p

Yeah I got an a delivery from Currys Ordered on the 12th April DPD delivered on the 17th (and the monday was a bank holiday too in fairness to them)

Once the tracking says dispatched from Athlone distribution centre its 1 or 2 days

For anyone who has recently had large home appliances delivered, can I ask how is delivery going? Will they at least drop stuff inside the front door or what's happening? Thanks.

currys dropped a tv off for me inside the door, no signing for it - had to confirm with a text back receipt
