    Love/ In love.
Why does these words mean many different things. Love can become all encompassing. I mean you can love your family, job, sport, car etc.
But when your In love with somebody is that the ultimate in your relationship, if you turn from being In love to just love, does that technically mean you lost something in your relationship?

If this topic was broached before. I apologise

I think it would be hard for anyone to give you advice OP without something more specific to go on? Do you feel something has been lost in your relationship?

    Hi OP,

Ah I've asked myself this many times. I've come to believe that "in love" feeling can't last forever, and that it changes to a different form of love. M Scott Peck wrote (in the Road Less Travelled, really interesting book) that love is a choice, not a feeling. And when the rush of being "in love" is over, it's only then that "real" love can begin. Unfortunately though, in my experience, not everyone is up for the challenge of real love, and prefer to keep chasing the thrill of the "in love" feeling.

Attraction however, is different. I still think we need to feel attraction to our partner, but the all-encompassing "oh my god this person is the best thing since sliced bread" can't last forever, as we're all human and not perfect!

Hope that helps in some way...

Sorry I might have wrong it wrong, I'm not looking for advice, I'm looking for opinions.
I'm hearing and reading lot of this lately ( I love him but not in love with him). And i'm curious as to what people think on the subject

Does the In Love bit die, when the duration of the intense lovemaking is over?

Thank you for you post Kylta, but as per the forum charter, if a matter or a subject does not impact you personally and you want a general discussion PI/Relationship issues isn't the right place for your thread.

I am closing the thread in the circumstances. If it is a topic that is impacting you personally, you are welcome to PM me and I will re-open the thread.
