Protect granite kerbs during tarmaccing

Lads, After putting in granite kerbs and I want to protect them from tar splatter during tarmaccing. Any ideas as the tarmac will be v hot it'll burn a lot. What have anyone seen been used. Thanks

Lads,

After putting in granite kerbs and I want to protect them from tar splatter during tarmaccing. Any ideas as the tarmac will be v hot it'll burn a lot. What have anyone seen been used.
