I have Mark's on my sitting room wall from mushrooms I used to fix damp boards to my wall in my sitting room they are only on the exterior facing wall . I looks like lots of 2 ' grey circles I painted it last year and due to this I'm about to do it again . My question is what can I use to cover this before I paint it again ?? is it primer or a Damp coat ??

Use some white gloss paint over the spots before you paint it again. 2 thin coats and let it dry. Bingo !

Don’t do this as the gloss will be oil based and the emulsion won’t adhere to it

Try a shellac based primer, give the marks two coats of primer and then carry on with the emulsion. If it bleeds through the shellac primer then it’s still damp behind

I just spray mine with a mildew and mould spray. Does the job.

I had an issue like this and used

    https://www.zinsseruk.com/product/bulls-eye-1-2-3/

and it worked a treat. They have it in B & Q and Woodies etc. about €15 for a small tin

This is the best advice, seal and then do a coat of emulsion over it.

Does it work for the other 3, (Matthew, Lukes, John)'s?
