We had something years ago, joint ill I think it was called. Looks similar tho his legs were turned out. He thrived for 2 or 3 years.

I saw that online alright, that infection might have gone in through the navel and to the joints. The calf has had 2 long acting penicillin injections though so I would've hoped it'd clear it if it was that

I'm no expert, but I doubt his legs will go back to normal. I could be wrong and hopefully am, but once his not in pain he ought to be ok.

Unfortunately I think you're right, nothing has seemed to work on them so far and I'm only afraid of him putting on more weight and being unable to stand up

We had a similar one to your pic. Could not get it to stand up on it's front legs the night it was born. It was diagnosed as flexural tendons. The Vet applied a cast for 6 weeks. The cast helped strengthen its legs, but its hooves remained slightly turned up.

had 1 , 2 years ago, he wasn't as bowed as that at 3 months ,

went ok and we kept him until this spring, as he put on weight he seemed to get worse and also was lying out quite a bit so we thought he was in some discomfort, so we factoried him , we had to get a vet's cert. b4 the factory would accept him

k/o about 320 kgs d/w and no meat condemned.

Just remembered, we had a heifer calf which developed weakened front legs prior to weaning. She could be seen grazing while on her knees. The Vet said it could have been caused by meal feeding prior to weaning, acidiosis affecting the joints.

If it's joint ill, the calf will need injections for weeks rather than days. We had one this spring and she had to get a shot every day for 3 weeks. Cleared up grand but if it hadn't, she would need another 3 weeks.
