Tree Identification

    Are you sure the leaves in the second two photos are from the same kind of tree shown in the first two? The leaves look a bit like some kind of laurel to me.

    Anyway, that log has gone quite "punky" already, not sure how much use it would be for woodworking / -turning purposes.

    Thanks for the reply.
    There are two trees side by side, i am assuming they are the same tree, they certainty look alike. The one that is down is probably down a few years. The second two photos, with leaves are from the neighboring tree.

    Possibly some kind of willow then, but the leaves look a bit too glossy / waxy to me for that.
