Old Sky Box with no HDMI connection

Hey all, my mothers Tv met its end yesterday. Her skybox is one of those old white boxes that only uses the Scart Connection and the spare Tv in the house has no scart connection.

I've been sending whats app photos back and over trying to help but I think she is out of luck.

My question is, if she rings Sky, would they send her out a new box with a HDMI port? Or do new Tv's still have Scart connections? Considering she has a sub for 15 odd years at this stage to Sky, surely they should have sent her a newer box by now?

The only other thing I can think of is ordering a HDMI -> Scart connection.

Your best option would be to get a box on adverts ie or done deal but these boxes are very cheap now so a lot of options are collect. If you ring sky it will take ages to get through and then they will try and flog you sky q. The other thing is that box is SD whereas the new boxeS are HD.

You can still buy tv's with scart but its a waste of money. SD will go soon. A new tv would have soarview.

When you get box its possible card will work straightaway but it may need pairing. You can now do this online but you need a sky account.

A scart to hdmi is possible but look at boxes and they are a better long term option.

If you do ring sky use the freephone number 1800 92 7476.

If a new TV doesn't have a scart connector it will probably have RCA connectors so this cable should do, scart to RCA

There are a number of Irish based sellers of sky+ boxes on ebay.
