Two bungalows, one with a slightly hire roof, but not significant.
Houses within 3km line it sight.

House 1 is 50-60 years old and has been lived in for years and fire works well. Renovated somewhat, triple glazed windows and external insulation etc but still has an open fire.

House 2, is 50 years old, old double glazing but reasonably ok. Think 90s or so. Hasn’t been lived in for 2 years or so.

With the same fuel in the same setup, the fire in house 2 doesn’t last half as long but also doesn’t seem to burn properly.

Could it be air flow with the grate etc?
Could it be just cold fire bricks? I don’t think so
Could it be air flow in the room?

    Any other thoughts ?
