    1. I have received a large bill and I believe there is a discrepancy. The farm is also now converted for Domestic use and I should not be paying charges. Can someone look into this for me please?

    There are currently no domestic water charges in place. If you receive a bill, please contact us on 1850 448 448 and a member of our team will rectify this.

    If you are concerned about your last Commercial bill, please call us on 1850 778 778 and a member of our team will look into this for you.

    2. There is a public main running through a house which I have purchased. I want to build an extention; is this possible?

    Sewer and drainage connections fall under the remit of the individual landowner and may be moved in line with building regulations. The exception to this rule would be where there is a public main running through the property under the remit of Irish Water.

    You would have a Way Leave Agreement in place and the relevant documentation would be received along with the deed of the property. Queries in relation to the diversions of public mains on private property can be directed to diversions@water.ie and our Diversions Team will be able to assist you further.

    3. Are Irish Water Working During the Coronavirus Issue?

    All our services are operating as normal during this period. Please feel free to contact us here via PM with the relevant details of your query or over the phone on 1850 278 278 and a member of our team will be happy to help you.

    4. Can I temporarily disconnect the water supply to my property?

    In order to turn off your supply from the public mains to your property, you can switch your supply off using the outside stop valve located in your meter box, when safe to do so. Once the works are complete you can turn back on your supply from the same location.

    5. I need to access by IW online account; however, the systems appear to be down. I need to retrieve a bill I received a few years ago. Can you help me?

    We’re very sorry to hear this. Can you PM us with the following details below and a member of our team will be happy to look into this for you?

    - Your name;
    - Your contact number;
    - Address; and
    - WPRN.
