Got a painted kitchen approx. 3yrs ago, it was spray painted by kitchen supplier (Paint code: 10B15) paint has flaked off two drawers and a few cabinets. Will be bringing it up with supplier to rectify. Is there a particular type/brand of paint used professionally that should be used? as I suspect the cheapest option along with poor prep was perhaps previously used.

Don't think you will have much success with paint issues from your kitchen supplier but no harm in trying. Is it a wrapped or solid wood kitchen. If solid, what timber?

It’s solid wood believe it’s supposed to be oak however can say for definite it a pale colour timber under the paint that’s flaked off. Supplier likely to have no interest so taking a hands on approach in sorting this correctly

If it's oak, you need to thoroughly degrease ( not just clean, a proper degreasing agent should be used), sand back the chipped areas, fill if necessary, sand again. The spray adhesion primer ( I use Otex Akva), followed by a shellac primer ( brush and roll) Sand again, . Spray 1st top coat, sand with 320 or 400 , spray final topcoat. Depending on the amount of abuse the kitchen is going to take, I would use Helmi 30 as top coat. If heavy use, then Intact primer and Intact 8 or 40 depending on sheen finish.

Thanks dok_golf that's very helpful...I somehow doubt all those steps were followed by the supplier!
