The Nice Things People Do ....

Okay, it happened last summer but Ill tell it anyway.

I was walking along the bustling pathway at St Stephens Green (by Starbucks) and I notice a fiver on the ground (€5). Happy Days I thought .......
So as I head over to pick it up I see this Indian guy about 20 Y-old (who was closer), he stoops to pick it up.

I thought okay, fair enough, but I'm already stopped now and am observing this guy.
He looks around and finds a stone, he places the €5 onto a pillar fixture and then uses the stone to hold it down before he walks away.
Keep in mind there are literally hundreds of people walking up and down at this point.
He decided to place the money on the pillar in the hope that the rightful owner might re-claim it later.

I was blown away, it was a lovely gesture from him.

The girl I was with picked up the money and legged it after him, told him to keep it !!!

    Bollocks, you pocketed the money!

To be honest, it was just a naive and pointless thing to do rather than a nice thing.

So if you found a wallet would you hand it back.

If I could identify the owner, yes.
I certainly wouldn't leave it on a pillar, under a stone.

It would be nice if there was a chance of the rightful owner getting it back.
As described, the chances of this happening was pretty much zero.
    Just naive, really.

Yeah I like that key story.

I found a small bunch of keys near a shopping complex a while ago - had a car key and the black alarm thing (you click it and it does the auto lock on the doors - dont know what its called)

Couldn't find the owner but I found the car in about 2 minutes.
Left a note on under the wiper with my phone number - Over the moon she was.

    How are you

    It's called a fob.
