Does anybody have any idea how I can get free to air Irish channels on the attached box? I currently get about 350 channels when I scan on my LG tv, but it’s mainly made up of multiple BBC, ITV and C4 channels.

You won't get Irish channels free to air on the same satellite as UK channels. Your best bet is an aerial to get Saorview, your TV should have a terrestrial tv. Depending on where you are you might get away with an indoor aerial but an outdoor is recommended.

As above the Irish channels are not FTA via satellite.

Is this in an apartment or similar?

The optical feed into this GTU can carry a terrestrial signal from an aerial if one has been inserted into the feed and extracted/split again at the TV.

Otherwise an aerial directly connected to the TV will be required.
