Covid19 payment enquiry

    Hi all,

I'm on the covid19 payment. I'm a freelance stage manager, so there is no work happening in my field now, obvs.

However, a producer wants me to sign a contract for a show opening end of Sept. The thing is, she wants me to invoice the first payment upon signing the contract.

    What should I do?

Do as instructed. As long as the dates match up I'm sure that's fine considering it's not until September.

But then the OP would be getting income from self employment - which should mean the covid claim should be ceased.

No. It would mean OP is getting a payment from self employment six months from now. And currently has no income.

Check with Social Welfare. Whatever you do, do not rely on advice from here. As long as no money changes hands now I would imagine you'd be okay. But my opinion is worth sh1t. It's just an opinion.

If anything is clear it's that the response is being made up on a daily basis. What is true today may not be true tomorrow. Check.
