Painted headboard

    Hi all,

I recently tried to paint my headboard white. It was wooden before I painted it. Visited a paint shop and explained what I was doing and I was given a tin of white paint (can't remember the specific make). It wasn't chalk paint.

Now here's the issue - I tried to paint the headboard after sanding it and the paint keeps peeling. I'm not sure what to try next. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    D

You need to give it a coat or 2 of primer, such as Fleetwood Pure Grip, then paint it as normal

Is that pure grip the same as BIN

No, pure grip is water based and wont kill heavy staining. BIN is shellac and will block more or less anything.
