Hi! Just wondering if anyone knows how I might replace the battery in this watch. My ma loves it and I want to surprise her by getting it working again.

It says Giovanni Milano on the back.

Failing that, any jewellers doing repairs in Cork/Munster? Thanks!

It seems like it uses a friction fit cap on the back which should pop open if you gently wedge a thin blade between the back case and the watch. Once opened you will be able to see what kind of battery it takes and order one off ebay or similar. It's quite easy to change batteries - there should be plenty of good youtube videos that show you how to change them - the hard part is getting the case off (without damaging the seals) and that generally even easier for the friction fit backs instead of screw cases.

Here's a good video of the type of case you seem to have:

I haven't needed to use a clamp to put the case back on like in the video though - just a little bit of strength works for me.
